My Top 10 Tips for Kajabi Site Optimization
Sep 19, 2025
Consider this article a small "nudge" to look at your current website and funnel setup to identify areas where you might be able to generate a little bit more revenue in your business. Enough to make the recent Kajabi price increases feel like nothing π
My Top 10 Tips:
1. Homepage: First up, review your homepage. Was it built years ago and barely updated since? Are there a billion and one different pathways on it that your website visitors could take that leave them overwhelmed and bouncing right off? If there are, give it an overhaul, STAT.
Give your website visitors a clear and easy pathway to buy your solution and a clear and easy way to enter your funnel if they’re not quite ready to buy. Take away everything else! You can tell them about all your other offers and freebies once they’re inside your world (aka “You have their email address”).
2. Analytics: The data - you need to actually LOOK at it π Who knew?! Let’s start with your Freebie opt-in page - when you look at the analytics on it, what percentage of people who see the page, actually opt in? “Amazing” could be as high as 60%, but “Good enough” is around 30-35%. If your freebie is only converting at 15-20% (or less π) then maybe it’s time to come up with a new one.
Even freebies that converted like crazy a few years ago, can lose steam over time as trends and consumer challenges change. What is your audience asking for help with TODAY?
3. Conversion Events: Are you still running a monthly live webinar that no one really shows up for and wondering why your offer isn’t selling? I’m sure you’ve heard of "Zoom Fatigue" (I certainly have it) - it’s TOUGH these days to get people along to a free live webinar - don’t take it personally. The issue is compounded if you don’t have the budget to run ads to your live event.
If you’ve prepared a cracker of a live webinar that used to convert well, consider recording an evergreen (on-demand) version of it. Something people can see, get excited about, opt in for, and watch straight away…not next Thursday at 12pm when they’re certainly going to be double-booked with life.
4. Review Your Emails: Once you get people into your funnel, either via a freebie or a conversion event, what are you emailing them in the follow-up? And how long ago did you review and revise those emails? I’m not talking about a little “tweak”, I’m talking about sitting down in a quiet place to write out a fresh new take. If you’re anything like me, a cocktail or three really helps get the creative juices flowing πΈ+πΈπΈ
5. The Checkout: With Kajabi’s new checkout builder, no time like the present to go and rework your checkouts for maximum conversion. You can now build them out to look like a full sales page with a checkout right there on the page, reducing any buyer friction, and you can even put a preview of the product the person is buying so that they can see all the modules and lessons they’ll be receiving - harness the FOMO!
6. Bumps and Upsells: When someone is ready to buy, how are you increasing the average order value (AOV)? What enticing “must have” resource can you position on the checkout page that will make the core purchase so much more valuable - think templates bundles and “next level” trainings. And once they submit their payment, what incredible one-time-offer upsell is staring them in the face? Think discounted coaching or an unbeatable community offer to join your membership.
7. Create a Paywall: Kajabi’s new paywall feature is a game-changer for fence sitters. If you’re struggling to get the numbers you need into your core program, consider giving away the first module for free. When you implement the Kajabi paywall, you create a free “limited access” offer for anything in your program above the paywall line (this could be 1 or several modules) and anytime someone tries to click into a module below the line, they are taken to your checkout to buy the full program. It’s a “taster” to get those curious fence sitters off the fence. Magic! πͺ
8. Product Sidebars: Once someone becomes a student of any of your courses, use the product sidebar to upsell and cross-sell! What add-ons do you offer that you can advertise in the sidebar? Private coaching? In-person retreats? And what’s the sensible “next step” for someone inside your program? Is it an ongoing membership? Another, more advanced, program? Maybe a mastermind?
You can also use the Student Library to display offers to students when they log in that they don’t yet own. The Student Library is PRIME REAL ESTATE!
9. Set Up Your Onboarding Automations: I’m sure you’re no stranger to setting up the usual, everyday, automations - tagging, segmenting, subscribing to email sequences, but how often do you set up automations inside your course products or send automated upsell emails to students after they purchase your product?
From inside of lessons you can set up a bunch of automations and trigger them based off a student completing that lesson - you could grant them a bonus offer, subscribe them to an email sequence for the “next level” course, send them a coupon code.
And if their original purchase comes with something like “3 months bonus access” to your membership, don’t forget to add automated emails into their onboarding email sequence between days 83-90 to let them know their 3 months is ending, with links to buy continued access.
And my last tip for today…
10. Launch a New Offer: Are you feeling the itch to create something new? Is your audience expressing a need that you can’t currently meet? Maaaaybe, this is the perfect time to (pour yourself a cocktail πΈ), sit down with your notepad, and flesh out those ideas you’ve had brewing for a while?
It doesn’t need to be a gigantic 12 module course that takes months to create. Maybe it’s just a private coaching bundle if you have a few hours spare, or a higher ticket mastermind where it’s less about creating training content and more around expert conversations.
1 new sale of 1 new offer could cover your Kajabi expenses for the next 12 months!
All these options for optimization are at your fingertips with Kajabi’s in-built features (no plan increase required) which leads me to my next question,
Should you stay and optimize or are you still feeling the urge to overhaul your entire tech stack? π€
